Gucci Museo - Constantia Timotheou

'The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten'

The quote above, to me, speaks volumes especially having now visited the Gucci Museo in Florence. Seeing all the Gucci products in the flesh in such close proximity, I fully understand that you just can't put a price on quality.

One thing that stood out for me at the museum was the Gucci evening wear collection. I still don't think my eyes can quite believe what they have seen. The evening wear gowns, designed to be worn on the red carpet and to the most exclusive events around the world, were so exquisite and stunning, that you can understand why the prices start from 100,000 euros. The detailing from the intricate beading to the hand cut petals of feathers and the crystals are so breathtaking that it is no surprise that all the best loved female stars in the entertainment industry want to wear Gucci to all the big events.

Although all of the dresses were stunning, my favourites had to be the white gown worn by Cameron Diaz in 2012 and the smokey grey gown worn by Salma Hayek in 2011.

The chiffon ruffles and the intricate beading are what makes this such a striking gown.

This organza floor length gown with a full skirt of hand cut grey feathers and crystals was breathtaking in the flesh.
