Fai Della Bellezza il Tuo Costante Ideale - Ryan Notman-Watt

Rome and Florence Trip 2014

For this blog post I've decided to do an overall overview of the trip, what it meant to go, what we experienced, and how it felt to go to this amazing places, eat enough carbs to hibernate for the rest of winter, and get to know Fashion Marketing class of 2013 even more. As a whole I felt this trip was way more than just a fashion trip, it was mainly toning are legs and bums with the vast amounts of walking and hill climbing ..... I joke.  We got to see amazing monuments like the Trevi Fountain, the Presidential Palace, The Spanish Steps, the memorial of the first King of Italy, the Domo, statues of naked people from the bible (i.e David (; )

And of course we got to see plenty of people who looked like this:

I know 99.9% of us loved that #ItalianDesign at its finest.

Valentino

So of course I can't talk about the trip without talking about #Valentino, which for me was very much a #dreamcometrue. This still feels much dream, walking through and seeing dresses being sold for the value of a house, seeing seamstresses who spend 8 hours working with the finest lace, layering and creating a butterfly ..... one butterfly, thats true #dedication. It felt like going back in time, where everything was more #chic, more exotic, more #luxurious. It felt like breathing the air of the era of far flung Princesses, where Art and Fashion could be more than just business, of designers who would sleep in the most expensive bed in Rome. A quote from Valentino said to non other than our Luca, 'If he's going to design for a princess he's going to have to live like one'. Walking through the building where I saw some of the places and seamstresses (i.e. the blond sassy one at the end) in the movie 'Last Emperor, Valentino" was so amazing to be in person and to be able to ask them the questions and them picking out dresses and seeing in person the detail, the craftsmanship. Lastly otherwise this is going to get #mushy and little #awks was THE ROOM. The room where celebrities and billionaires have sat, where a small 1% of Haute Couture society sit and sip champaign whilst trying on dresses and suits from the catwalk was like finally reaching the last gate in heaven ..... #truefashionnut. This experience is not only just a serious opportunity but something that could help us get a job when we are in an interview. It has helped us learn, develop and appreciate this very top of the fashion pyramid and how it works. And again I can only say THANK YOU LUCA SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH
#KeepCalmAndLoveLuca.

Fendi

Fendi again was another amazing experience, we got taken through their main store and learned about their different product ranges, their customers, the different attributes of their customers and how that has affected the store design, improvements, and service. The girls got to try on the furs which was quite entertaining to see them suddenly get a little nervous to try on some clothes #lavishisthenewblack. And finally we got to go on the rooftop and see the beautiful view of Rome, and have the amazing #selfie lighting leading to a flurry of photos, selfies, group-shots, Polaroid's, and getting that sweat old man to take a #million photos ..... #Vain.

 Tari Vari

I just have to remember Tari Vari I mean that night constituted of three things €200 Champaign, Photos, and glam ...... and maybe Evan, love it! I mean I might not have meat my soul mate who would send a private jet to pick me up for dinner dates on the weekends but on the whole was a great night. We all danced like our parents, we all got to have a great time and a drink with people who we don't normally get the chance to. in one hashtag Tari Vari was so
#VIP.
#Kinda.

Florence

Florence was a whirlwind 2 days with more amazing food, stunning views, some more sexy pics #thankyouArmani, our attempts to be nijas so that Amanda, Luca and Matthew didn't notice are final plan and of course are beloved #WheresLilly? That last dinner was very much a bitter swear moment and the most amazing week we will for along to time remember and hold dear had to come to an end, with a last #hooray.

Thank Yous

Of course this trip could never have happen without the support and work of Amanda who is the foundation for us and Fashion Marketing, we wouldn't have are amazing Luca who is always their  with passion, energy & care, and finally Matthew who has come a valiant SECOND place for best dressed male after me!!!; who has been teaching us the golden ways of social media, the bloggersphere, and casually goes to parties at Milan Fashion week and gets personal emailed by Stefano Gabbana #WHHHAATTT!!!

Finally

This truly was a once in a life time trip with amazing people and one thing that will forever be what I will remember of this trip!

Love Ya'll
