Retailers in London

                                          by Manwei Luo
Due to some private reasons, I was unable to visit Italy. As I was supposed to write a retail blog about 3 different shopping areas in London, including the  introduction of retail environment and related images. Thus, I went to London instead and chose Mayfair, Oxford Street and Carnaby Street as typical examples.

Mayfair
Mayfair is located in central London and can be regarded as the most fashionable district of London in which to live. It is a place which is famous for the designer shops of high level such as Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Lanvin, which create a atmosphere of full-charm. However, there are also many specialist shops that offer unique objects that you cannot find anywhere else.
The general style of architecture there is artistic and historical which attracts a lot of visitors. Furthermore, the decoration of the stores inside is another attraction. You can see exquisite furnishings, beautiful lights and special window displays all around.
The consumers there are general wealthy or pursuing the life of high quality. They are fond of wearing clothes which are designed ones and of high taste. Thus, consumers are comparatively older. Maybe, there are not so many young people can afford the relatively expensive products there.
Here are some photos of Mayfair:

Oxford Street
Oxford Street is one of the world's longest shopping streets and most popular shopping areas in London. During the present century, it has gradually assumed a special kind of commercial homogeneity, notably at shop level. You will find many high street shops, some of the leading ones are Topshop,Zara and Next, whose products are fairly fashionable but affordable.
The buildings there are mostly of classic British style, but you can experience the modern atmosphere in most stores. The decoration of shops are simple but fashionable, looks neat and comfortable. What is worth mentioning is that you can find shops of different levels, varying from Primark to Louis Vuitton, which satisfies all kinds of people. Therefore, Oxford Street is always crowded.
Needless to say, consumers there are various. You can see kids, teenagers, young people, mid-aged people and old people as well, wearing different types of clothes. Once you go to Oxford Street, you will see how popular it is.

Carnaby Street
Carnaby Street is a pedestrianised shopping street in London. It is home to numerous fashion and lifestyle retailers, including a large number if independent fashion boutiques such as Diesel, Dr.Martens and Boss. It is not as busy as Oxford Street but trendy.
It seems that buildings are not so special there and the shops are just of normal size, but you are promised to find really young and fashionable items there, which can be seen from window displays.
People who are stylish can be found everywhere in Carnaby Street. And most of them are young guys and fashion individuals.
